PIPISTRELLO is a classic lamp designed by Gea Aulenti for Martinelli Luce. The latest version has got a new color, copper. A very hip and fresh color which gives the lamp an instant boost of new energy. The original PIPISTRELLO was designed in 1965 and has become one of the classic showpieces of Martinelli luce. The original lamp has a white painted base and a white opal plastic diffuser. The stainless steel telescope never changed. With the telescope you can adjust the height of the lamp. The height can therefore be set anywhere from 66 cm to 85 cm. So it can either be a table lamp or a floor lamp. In Italian ‘Pipistrello’ means ‘bat’ and you can see the similarities in the opal diffuser. The lamp is featured in the permanent collections of the Centre Pompidou, MoMa, The Metropolian Museum of Art and the Museum des Arts Decorative. This shows that PIPISTRELLO is really an iconic piece of art. Nowadays the lamp has different colors to choose from, such as white, dark brown, purple red, bright black, aluminum and the latest addition copper. With the new color the vintage design has a modern glow. There is also a ‘mini’ version available and both the PIPISTRELLO and the MINIPIPISTRELLO are available in halogen and LED. The PIPISTRELLO lamp is always an eyecatcher in the room. PIPISTRELLO is suitable for different situations, whether it is in a hyper modern, clean, room or in a very classic, old building. PIPISTRELLO always looks good.
