Flos @ LB 2016
At this years edition of the Light + Building fair, Flos is proud to exhibit the new professional collections in a stand covering more than 700 sqm. which is explicitly conceived to highlight the new indoor and outdoor light fixtures and fittings and to demonstrate how harmoniously and emotionally the Flos products, both for interiors and exteriors, can relate to architecture. Thanks to cutting-edge technologies and unique design approach, Flos Architectural is making a statement of its capability to set a true dialogue between the different languages of lighting product and architecture. The relationship between light and architecture, between performance and emotion, is brought to new standards. The Flos Architectural range is also joined by the Flos Outdoor Collection, which is showcased at Light + Building for the first time. This new selection of fine products is made by Ares, the benchmark Italian company in the professional outdoor lighting segment, which recently became part of the Flos Group. Once again, the perfect fusion of Flos’ visionary philosophy of design and an intelligent use of the most advanced technology available in the sector, is the driving force behind a best-of-breed outdoor line.
The stand has been designed by Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen, who has taken on a very sculptural, yet architectural approach. The concept is based on the fundaments of strict, linear, and architectural style. Ornament-less corridors and walk-trough spaces are created using thick monochrome walls and roof structures. A void was created in the center of the stand for Van Duysen’s lighting installation for Flos, part of the new collection which is being launched at the fair. Thanks to Charles van Beem and Paul McNamara for giving us the tour.
