Kartell

The Italian Kartell is one of the leading contemporary furniture companies in the world. The plastic-based products and designs are widely considered to be highly innovative and of good quality. Kartell was founded in 1949 by chemical engineer Giulio Castelli. The first products were plastic accessories for the automotive industry and household goods. During the 70s their reputation was established by the exhibition at the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Italy: The New Domestic Landscape.
