Bernal, Gemma

Gemma Bernal worked alongside fellow industrial designer Ramón Isern between 1968 and 1998, when she teamed up with David Ramos and Jordi Bassols, before going solo in 2004 and setting up her own studio. Bernal has been working most intensely with B.Lux, designing the Inn Side lamp and the Nina & Nino collection.Previously, she has also worked with Vibia by creating the classic Plis series which is still a bestseller.

Since she began her career in industrial design in the 1960s Bernal has been developing her philosophy. She strives to create design and order through technology, craftmanship and tradition. Nowadays, Gemma Bernal has collected her own team supporting her in "Observing the complex reality that surrounds us, synthesizing the main concepts that we want to communicate and developing a proporsal in acoordance with where Design and Order concepts are present with clarity and subtleness".
